Is Greatness Overrated?

“You don’t have to be great to start, but you do have to start to be great" -Zig Ziglar

Do you want to be great? Do you have what it takes to reach greatness?

I want to do many things in life, but I let fear get in the way, and I never met those goals. After years of learning life skills and improving my self-image, I am now working towards achieving “greatness.” As a result, I feel more successful in life.

I have shared before that one of my goals is to be a motivational speaker. Years ago, I was in Toastmasters and learned public speaking and leadership skills. My friend is encouraging me to move forward. One of the areas she excels in is motivational speaking. She gives me projects to work on that move me towards that goal. As a result, I am finally moving forward.

However, that voice in my head tells me that I can’t do it; why start?

It is easy for me to hold on to that thought process. But, as I am growing, I find that I am slowly letting go of those words. Today, I tell myself, “I DON’T WANT TO QUIT! I AM GOING TO SUCCEED.”

The following are three ways to move toward greatness:

1) Think about what you’ve already accomplished

2) Don’t be the Lone Ranger – spend time with the right people

3) Focus on just that one thing.

Below is a link that gives you more information:

I have spent years with an unrealized dream. But the bottom line is that I must start the journey!

I encourage you to begin your journey.
