Are You a Yes or a No, Person?

What do you think? Do you think, “Yes, I can?” Or Do you think, “No, I Can’t?”

“Whether you think you can or think you can’t, you’re right” -Henry Ford

How often do you talk yourself into or out of something? Success in life is often mind-over-matter. Self-talk makes a difference.

You may be given a project that is out of your comfort zone, or you may want to start a new project and become overwhelmed and are afraid of moving ahead. Fear plays a huge part in success or failure.

In a past blog, I talked about my dream of becoming a motivational speaker. It took me years to put myself in the spotlight. I did not do well the first time I spoke. I allowed the voice in my head to tell me that I was not ready. I did not engage the audience, appeared (and was) nervous, and stumbled over words.

As I matured, I was determined to speak well. I shared with you that I joined Toastmaster’s International. I succeeded because I had a new mindset. My goal was to learn speaking and leadership skills. After the first year, I was awarded Most Improved Speaker. Things only got better from there.

I love sharing that success. It changed my life and how I view myself. Don’t be afraid to step out and tell yourself, “I can.”

You can look at yourself like the “Little Train That Could.” He kept saying, “I think I can, I think I can.” The little train succeeded! If he had told himself he could not, the whole train would have rolled back down the hill and would not have arrived at its destination.

Today: Tell yourself you can succeed and reach for the stars!
